Kayastha Identity

We, the members of Kayasth community, are proud of our identity and heritage that rests solidly on its foundational values - knowledge, valour, and wisdom. Such values are encompassed in our logo which cue these in varied ways.

Our logo containsvalour and knowledge to establish that the Kayasth community has adaptability to be both sword wielder and pen wielder. Or logo has a feel of pronounced lethalness - powered by the colour of red - represented as it is by the blade of sword and pointedness of the nib of their pen. Foundational layer of mud coloured yellow in logo represent the wisdom of earth enabling forbearnce and adaptability for the community to align with change.

Knowledge that emanate out of the light of Sun God and energy or shakti that is sourced to Goddess Durga help us to seed, procreate, and grow.

Logo’s one leg is rooted in tradition and the other raised in modernity; simple, and above all, thought-through in spirit.

Crest: Derivinginspiration from the logo, the Kayasth crest too carries values of knowledge, wisdom, and valour. Similar to the logo, we have Shakti and Surya overseeing both pen and sword to ensure that the basic values are not overlooked.

A crest is typically heraldic, originally used on flags, shields, coats, signet rings, house, gates, or even families. The current use of crest is on coat, button, tie, cap, and other memorabilia.
